In all-fours position with a straight back (I.e., flat, parallel to floor) and head aligned with spine.
Slowly sit back on heels and stretch arms out in front of body.
Keep feet relaxed with the tops of feet on the floor.
Move the thumbs together and gently press the underarms toward the floor.
Hold; relax and return to starting position.
Stretches the shoulders, and upper back.
Do not place all your weight on heels; sit back only enough so that buttocks gently touch heels.
This exercise may be contraindicated for some individuals with knee problems.
This is a flexibility stretch.
