Persons at high risk of hepatitis B infection include: injecting drug users; sexually active men and women with multiple partners, including commercial sex workers; homosexual and bisexual men; workers who have contact with blood or blood-contaminated body fluid; persons in institutions for the developmentally disabled; patients on dialysis or who receive blood products; and household contacts and sexual partners of HBV carriers.
