Allergy provoking substances
 The most common allergy provoking substances (allergens) are:
- pollen from weeds, grass, flowers and trees
- mould spores
- dust mite particles
- animal skin, fur, saliva and dander (dead skin flakes)
- medications (e.g. penicillin)
- stinging insects
- foods (e.g. peanuts, milk)

Allergic people have very sensitive mucous membranes, which can be irritated by lots of different substances including smoke, pollution, cooking smells, perfume and strong odours. |
